The Soul Convicts

Soul / Motown / Funk

The Soul Convicts are the North West’s premier soul band. Playing everything from James Brown to Stevie Wonder to Earth, Wind and Fire. All killer, no filler.

Born above a bar in Darwen, Lancashire in the summer of 2012, the ‘Cons’ are a full soul and motown big band, fronted by DFC’s own Danny Finn.

Since their conception, the band has gone from strength to strength. Now a 10-piece mega-band with a 5-part horn section, the band have worked their way from Darwen Library Theatre to the main stage at Darwen Live supporting Wendy James in May 2016. They went on to host their first, headline show at The Grand in Clitheroe and a sellout show at Lytham Festival in August of the same year. They then performed alongside the Bay City Rollers at the Lytham Christmas Lights Switch On.

2017 saw more of the same forward momentum for the Convicts. They travelled out to Nice, France to play in front of a 500 strong crowd, supported the UK’s best selling singles band of all time, ‘Madness’ in front of 17,500 people at Lytham Festival and performed to sold out crowds at The Grand, Clitheroe and King Georges Hall, Blackburn. Their former support, Grace Davies, went on to come runner-up on the X-Factor in the same year and continues to be a huge supporter of the band.
