FAQs

Got a few questions for us? Great! See if you can find the answers on our FAQs below. Not got what you need? Just drop us a line.

I don’t know anything about this kind of thing! Can you help me choose what I want?

Of course – that’s what we do. Are you looking for event, corporate or wedding entertainment? Just tell us about your event and we’ll advise you on the best route to create it. We have loads of free guidance and advice on our blog and in our guides, so that’s often a good starting point if you’re not sure where to begin. Otherwise, give us a call or drop us an email and we’ll take it from there…

How much?

An important question. Cost is affected by a few factors: the act, the location, the timings and the size of the event. Whether you want a wedding DJ, function band or fancy hiring an acoustic wedding singer – your choice will influence the cost. We’ve set a transparent list of prices for our standard performance specs across the North West. These prices, and our package prices, are set for reference. Once you’ve made an enquiry, we’ll give you an accurate quote.

How do I make a booking?

You can give us a call on 01772 733337 – or send us an email to make your enquiry or just to have a friendly chat. Once we’ve confirmed the details of your event, we make our availability enquiries and, assuming all is well, we’re good to go. To secure the booking, we send out an electronic contract form for you to fill in and put down a deposit. It’s that simple.

Are you an agency?

We’re more than an agency. All the big agencies you might have seen online are glorified directories – they’ll often accept anyone on to their books and they usually won’t have seen the event or wedding musicians perform live. That’s not good enough for us. We hand-pick the highest quality acts from our local professional networks, then show them the DFC way – to make sure they’re reaching the heights of quality, professionalism and etiquette.

We know all of our acts well and we trust them. We hope you’ll find our knowledge of live entertainment to be a great resource, too. Our service goes beyond linking act and client – we’re here as music planners and coordinators, too.

What are your business hours?

9.30am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. You can get hold of us out-of-hours to sort out any hectic last-minute changes and issues, too.

What should I have as my walking down the aisle/recessional song?

It can be difficult settling on just one song. Check out our wedding ceremony music blogs for a few suggestions.

What song should I have for my first dance?

We’ve made an infographic on choosing your first dance – you can have a look here.

What if I/the act need to cancel?

Cancellation by the client incurs charges outlined in our full terms and conditions. Once you’ve booked them, the act has a contractual obligation to perform at your event – and withdrawal is only acceptable where they are unable to perform.

In the very rare event that the act cancels, it’s important to remember that DFC acts as negotiator only and is not a party to the resulting contract. For this reason, DFC can’t accept responsibility for non-fulfilment or breach of any such contract. Having said that, we’ll always do our best to mitigate unforeseen circumstances. With your permission, we would do everything in our power to quickly and efficiently find a replacement.
